Time is precious.
Introduction:
A watch is a portable time place intended to be carried or worn by a person. It is designed to keep a consistent movement despite the motion caused by the persons activates. A wristwatch is designed to be worn around the wrist attached by a watch strap or other types of bracelets, including metal brands, leather straps, or any other kind of bracelet. A pocket watch is designed for a person to carry in a pocket often attached to a chain.
History
Whiles portable spring-driven clocks were invented in the 15th century, the origins of watches can be traced back to 16th – century Europe. Until the middle of the twentieth century, watches were powered by winding a mainspring. The mainspring would turn gears thus moving the hands of the watches.
Importance of watch:
You would turn your wrist and know how much time you have left. For such a forgetful person like me a watch can sometimes be a lifesaver. Watches also allow you to know the time in special occasions and situations.
First watch:
Origins:
The first timepiece to be worn, made in the 16th century beginning in the German cities of Nuremberg and Augsburg, were transitional in size between clocks and watches. Nuremberg clockmaker peter Heinlein is often credited as the inventor of the watch.
Evolution:
A rise in accuracy occurred in 1657 with the addition of the balance spring to the balance wheel, an in-venation dispute both at the time and ever since between Robert Hooke and Christian Huygens. The innovation increased watches’ accuracy enormously, reducing error from perhaps several hours per days. To perhaps 10 minutes per days resulting in the addition of the minutes hand to the face from around 1680 in Britain and around 1700 in fiancé `
Types of watches:
Wristwatch:
The concept of the wristwatch goes back to the production of the very earliest watches in the 16th century. In 1571 Elizabeth of England revised a wristwatch, described as an armed watch, from Robert Dudley. The oldest surviving wristwatch then described as a bracelet watch is one made in 1806 and given to Josephine de Beauharnais from the beginning wristwatch, wristwatch was almost exclusively worn by woman.
Automatic watch:
John Harwood invented the first successful self-winding system in 1923. In anticipation of Harwood’s patent for self-winding mechanisms expiration in 1930, Glycan founder Eugene myelin started development on a self- winding system as separate module that could be used with almost any 8.75 ligne919.74 milimeter0 watch movement. Glycine incorporated this module into its watches in October 1930 and began mass-producing automatic watches.
